Bukit Chorocho
Embark on a lesser-known but incredibly rewarding hiking trail near Kuala Kubu Bharu, offering a significant challenge for those looking to push their limits.
Located in the same vicinity as the more popular Bukit Kutu, this trail is a hidden gem for hikers who want to avoid the crowds.
The hike is a short but intense 6 km round trip, which typically takes 3-4 hours to complete. The trail is often described as a "short and sharp challenge" due to its steep, relentless inclines. The journey begins with a brief downhill stretch leading to a river crossing at Sungai Sangloi. Once across, the real test begins with a continuous uphill climb that pushes your endurance to its limit.
The trail itself is raw and untamed, with a dense, lush forest and a significant number of leeches, so proper preparation is key. While the summit may not offer a grand, panoramic view, it features an old trig station and offers glimpses of the Titiwangsa range through the trees. Bukit Chorocho is a perfect alternative for a solid quad workout and a sense of accomplishment, especially when paired with a refreshing dip in the river on the way back.
