Bukit Kunong

8 hours

Moderate

Discover a recently opened trail near Kuala Kubu Bharu that is quickly becoming a favorite among hikers seeking a genuine challenge.
Background:

Bukit Kunong shares the same trailhead as Bukit Kutu, Gunung Rajah, and Bukit Hulu Telang/Bukit Hulu Bakau. The route starts from the familiar Bukit Kutu entrance but quickly diverts into a steeper, rougher, and less-travelled path. Right from the beginning, you’ll face a continuous and demanding elevation gain, surrounded by untouched forest and raw terrain.

Reaching the summit is a rewarding achievement despite the more enclosed views. Its solitude, intensity, and rugged character make Bukit Kunong a great choice for seasoned hikers looking for a fresh, demanding challenge.

Short, steep, and slippery! If you’re pressed for time but want a tough, exciting workout and don’t mind the lack of dramatic scenery, this trail delivers exactly that.
