Lata Kijang Waterfall

Moderate

Discover the highest waterfall in Negeri Sembilan at 80m. This challenging and rewarding hike is located within Taman Negeri Kenaboi (Kenaboi State Park) in Jelebu, Negeri Sembilan.
Background:

Lata Kijang, located deep within Jelebu, Negeri Sembilan, is a scenic waterfall destination often visited by hikers making their way toward Gunung Besar Hantu and Gunung Kecil Hantu. Although the area lies only about 83 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur, reaching the trailhead is an adventure in itself, involving a winding drive through the Hulu Langat route and past the picturesque Semenyih Dam, before crossing the southern reaches of the Titiwangsa Range into Jelebu.

The hike to Lata Kijang spans approximately 4 kilometers and typically takes just over an hour to complete. The route follows a former logging road, with long stretches of old tarmac and wide tracks once accessible by four-wheel-drive vehicles. While the trail lacks dense forest single tracks, it features one notably steep and demanding climb that tests endurance and patience.

At the end of the trail, hikers are rewarded with the sight of Lata Kijang waterfall—a tall, slender cascade flowing into a small natural pool before continuing down a broad, rocky riverbed. The waterfall offers a refreshing resting spot and a tranquil break from the climb. Due to its location, Lata Kijang is commonly included as part of a longer trek toward Gunung Besar Hantu, the highest peak in Negeri Sembilan, making it a popular waypoint for seasoned hikers seeking both scenery and adventure.
